Pros and cons of the Buffalo Bills signing free agent Odell Beckham Jr.

The rumors of the Buffalo Bills adding wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. won’t seem to go away with the latest chapter being an Instagram post by Hall of Famer Andre Reed. In that post, he is seen with Odell Beckham Jr. and mentions the idea of OBJ playing with Von Miller in Buffalo (they were teammates on the Los Angeles Rams last year) and Reed wrote “we had a good convo”.

Certainly, there may not be a better player for OBJ to talk to about playing football in Western New York than Andre Reed. He played 15 seasons with the Buffalo Bills from 1985 to 1999 is the franchise leader in most receiving categories and was a big part of their Super Bowl runs in the early 1990s.

Odell Beckham Jr. was a first round pick by the New York Giants in 2014 and had a great start to his career with three straight Pro Bowl nominations with over 1,300 yards and double-digit touchdowns each season.

However, he would see his production steadily decline in the second half of his time with the New York Giants and during his two and half years with the Cleveland Browns. He would be released during the season last year and sign with the Los Angeles Rams. He would bounce back and look like an impact wide receiver again with five touchdowns in seven regular season games.

He continued that strong play into the playoffs and had 25 receptions, 316 receiving yards, and two touchdowns in four games before suffering a torn ACL in the Super Bowl. This was his second ACL injury in just over about a year span.
