Ed Oliver playing his best football

Each season Ed Oliver has seemingly improved but has yet to really break out after the Buffalo Bills drafted him in the Top 10 of the 2019 NFL Draft. Oliver is a unique defensive tackle due to the fact that there are not many players at his position with the speed and quickness he has shown at times.

One player who probably could speak best about the improvements Oliver has made is center Mitch Morse. He signed as a free agent in 2019, the same year Oliver was drafted, and has gone up against him in practice every year since.

After practice on Saturday, Morse met with the media and said that Oliver is playing “his best football right now” according to ESPN’s Alaina Getzenberg.

The Buffalo Bills have made a number of changes on the defensive line this season with the addition of three defensive tackles but also bringing in Von Miller and Shaq Lawson at defensive end.

With Oliver entering his fourth year, he has arguably the most talent he has ever had around him in the NFL this season. This should create some winnable matchups as teams have to account for other players like Miller, and could set up Oliver for a breakout season.
