4 things we learned on Day 6 of Buffalo Bills training camp

Sean McDermott mentions Khalil Shakir as a player making plays
The Buffalo Bills drafted Shakir in the fifth round and right now there isn’t a clear path to him seeing consistent playing time as a rookie. However, he has made an impression early in training camp that may force the coaching staff to find a way to get him on the field.
On Saturday, McDermott was asked about how Shakir is coming along and said:
"“At the end of the day, you are evaluated for making plays and right now there are three or four guys making plays and he is one of them”"
Khalil Shakir was considered one of the steals of this year’s draft due to his production and the versatility he brings. In college, he was a receiver but also would get work rushing the ball, and while he is unlikely to do much of that in the NFL he does give the team some flexibility in terms of whether he plays inside in the slot or outside.
The wide receiver position seemed to have some questions after Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis entering training camp. However, with the way Isaiah McKenzie and Khalil Shakir have played over the first week of training camp, the coaching staff should feel much more confident about where this group is.
