Tim Settle makes an impact early with the Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills almost completely changed the defensive tackle position as they said goodbye to Star Lotulelei and Vernon Butler and brought in DaQuan Jones, Tim Settle, and Jordan Phillips to work alongside Ed Oliver.

The depth chart after Oliver at the position is very much up for grabs with these new additions. While the team won’t get a great understanding of what they have at the position until about a week into camp when they can wear pads, Tim Settle made a big play in his first practice.

The former Washington Commanders’ defensive tackle picked off backup quarterback Case Keenum and returned it about 20 yards, according to WGR550’s Sal Capaccio. The play brought back memories of Sam Adams’ interception of Tom Brady in the season opener in 2003.

Settle is a player that could have a breakout year with the Buffalo Bills as he had limited opportunities with Washington with two first round picks ahead of him on the depth chart at the position. This is a great first step for him as he tries to establish a role in this defense.
