Tavon Austin

Tavon Austin has been an NFL journeyman for most of his career after his storied high school and college careers. There is no question about Austin’s ability. Anyone who has seen Tavon Austin highlights knows that he can ball. Austin’s issue has always been finding a role within an NFL team. With the Bills, Austin may have trouble sticking to the roster because the Bills already have a player with a similar size and skillset in Isaiah Mckenzie.

Regardless of his potential roster status, I expect Austin to make several plays during training camp. While he is on the outside looking in on a roster spot, he could easily win over fans and will likely dominate playing on the second and third units during camp. Now, will it be enough to make the roster? That is a tricky question to answer before camp starts, but I think Austin has a path. The Bills have question marks surrounding the return game and the very back end of the wide receiver room.

I think Austin will have a great camp and become a fan favorite for the Bills. There usually is a receiver every year that makes that type of noise. Duke Williams, Cam Phillips, and Brandon Reilly are just a few who have made some waves in the past and struggled to make Buffalo’s roster. Expect Austin to be one of the most exciting playmakers in camp.
