Ed Oliver

We have talked about an Ed Oliver breakout season for a few years. Although we have not had that off-the-charts season where he challenges the league leaders in several stat categories, what we have gotten is a consistent progression into one of the best young defensive tackles in the NFL. Oliver has been pegged by many as a breakout candidate yet again, but this time I think we can be more confident than in years past.

Oliver has some solid additions to the defensive line who will join the interior. The additions of Daquan Jones, Tim Settle, and the return of Jordan Phillips give Oliver the best running mates he has had in his entire career. Oliver also has some reinforcements on the outside with the well-reported signing of Von Miller.

Just imagine how teams stop Oliver and Miller when they line up alongside each other. I don’t think we will have to wait until the regular season to see Oliver take that next step, either. I think Oliver will show at camp that he is the Buffalo Bills most dominant defensive lineman.

Although Von Miller may lead the team and sacks and be a better defensive playmaker Oliver in my eyes, is the most powerful and dominant lineman the Bills have.
