AFC Predictions: AFC East

1st: Buffalo Bills

2nd: Miami Dolphins

3rd: New England Patriots

4th: New York Jets

The AFC East was probably the easiest division to predict as the Buffalo Bills look to be the clear favorite to win the division, which would be their third in a row. While some of the other teams in the AFC East look to be improved, they don’t look to have closed the gap with Buffalo.

The Bills were the best team in the AFC East last year and can make the case that they are better this year with a revamped defensive line led by Von Miller, Rodger Saffold at guard, and first round draft pick Kaiir Elam.

The biggest challenger to the Bills this year does look to be the Miami Dolphins who were active in free agency with the signings of Terron Armstead, Connor Williams, and Chase Edmonds. However, no move could be more impactful this year than the trade for Tyreek Hill. Their biggest question is how does Mike McDaniels do as head coach as he is entering his first year in the role with the Dolphins.

The New England Patriots are similar to the Pittsburgh Steelers in that it is tough to count out a team led by Bill Belichick. However, the talent is not the same as it was during the Tom Brady years when New England was dominating the division.

Finally, there is the New York Jets who are a young team that certainly has potential but is not ready to compete with the rest of the division.
