Another former player who returned to the Buffalo Bills this offseason is defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. The Bills claimed Phillips off waivers in 2018 and became a starter in 2019 where he had a career year with 9.5 sacks.

He would leave in free agency after that season and sign with the Arizona Cardinals but was released after two seasons. The big defensive tackle struggled with injuries during his time with Arizona and missed 16 regular season games during that stretch.

Phillips now returns to Buffalo and similar to defensive end, the Bills like to play multiple players at that position over the course of the game. It helps keep players fresh and tests the opposing offensive line.

At defensive tackle, Phillips should be part of a rotation that includes Ed Oliver, DaQuan Jones, and Tim Settle. Similar to Shaq Lawson, the coaching staff knows Jordan Phillips from his first time with the team and if he can play at the same level, he could earn a contract extension after the season.
