Buffalo Bills address potential needs in 4-round 2023 NFL Mock Draft
The Buffalo Bills are set to start training camp in a few weeks as they begin preparation for the 2022 season. The hope is that this season will end with them hoisting the Lombardi Trophy and they have a good chance with the roster they have.
After this season though, the Bills could be looking at some major needs with players set to be free agents. This four round mock draft for the 2023 NFL Draft looks to address those needs with players that could be great replacements and fits on this roster.
When considering the Buffalo Bills have a good chance, I used the 32nd pick when putting together this mock draft to get a sense of who might be available at this spot.

One position that could see significant changes for the first time in six years is safety. In 2017, the Buffalo Bills added Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer as free agents. These two have remained the starters every year since and developed into one of the top safety duos in the league.
This season, Poyer is entering the final year of his contract and while there is a chance he could sign a new deal, that hasn’t happened yet. In addition, Micah Hyde is under contract for only one more season past 2022.
If the Bills don’t extend Poyer, the safety is going to be a position that will be a big priority for general manager Brandon Beane and Arkansas safety Jalen Catalon could be a great fit.
Catalon is similar to Poyer and Hyde in that he is a versatile safety that can really do anything. He can play close to the line of scrimmage to support the run but has the athleticism to drop back into coverage and defend the pass. If the Bills added Catalon to pair with Hyde, the coaching staff likely would not have to change much of their playbook.
He was the starter the past two seasons but saw last year cut short due to injury after six games. In the 16 games over the past two seasons, Catalon has 145 total tackles, five interceptions, and eight passes defended.
