Buffalo Bills player No. 6: Khalil Shakir, WR (R*)

If there’s one player from the 2022 draft class that could end up being a fantasy football steal for the Buffalo Bills outside of James Cook, it’s Khalil Shakir.

Being drafted in the 5th round of the 2022 NFL Draft, there’s likely an idea that Shakir won’t be productive in his rookie season; and that’s definitely possible.

However, given that the Bills traded up to get Shakir from the Chicago Bears– who also were in the market for a wide receiver– gives reason to believe that there was something about Khalil Shakir that the Bills knew they had to have.

Standing at 6-foot and weighing in at 196-pounds, Khalil Shakir is a guy that can step in and play slot receiver immediately in a pass-first offense powered by the best arm in the NFL. Shakir would have to beat out Jamison Crowder.

And with an ADP of about 299, it’s safe to say that Khalil Shakir can be a late-round pick-up, or if it shakes out this way, a waiver wire pick-up.

Khalil Shakir, however, has much more value in dynasty leagues. Even if he doesn’t produce this season, it’s possible that the Boise State product ends up being a pick football fans look back on and wonder how he got drafted so late.
