DARYL WILLIAMS. A+. . . Buffalo Bills

Free Agent Contract: 1 year, 2.25 million

Of all the free agent signings from 2020, the addition of Daryl Williams was by far the best by the Buffalo Bills. The offensive lineman was a former Carolina Panther but was coming off a few down seasons due to injuries and the fact that he was moved around from tackle to guard.

However, joining the Buffalo Bills he was able to focus exclusively on right tackle, which was the position that he had the most success at with the Panthers. He would regain that form with the Bills and would start every game at right tackle in the 2020 season.

Williams played so well that the Bills brought him back on a three-year deal last offseason. However, he wasn’t able to hold that spot and was replaced by Spencer Brown in Week 4 but remained in the starting lineup by moving inside to guard.

However, the salary in the new contract didn’t make sense for a starting guard and Williams was released this offseason. Even though the second contract wasn’t the right move, the initial signing of Daryl Williams by the Buffalo Bills was an excellent move and really helped the offensive line in the 2020 season.
