There should be no surprise who is number one on this list as Marv Levy is the greatest head coach the Buffalo Bills has had in franchise history. He has almost twice as many wins as Saban, has coached more playoff games than every other coach in franchise history combined, more wins than every coach, and led the Bills to six division titles and four straight Super Bowl appearances.

Marv Levy’s first head coaching opportunity would be in the CFL when he was head coach of the Montreal Alouettes from 1973 to 1977 and win the Grey Cup twice during that stretch. He would eventually leave the CFL for his first head coaching job in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs from 1978 to 1982.

After one season in the USFL, he eventually became head coach of the Buffalo Bills after replacing Hank Bullough mid-way through the 1986 season.

In 11 full seasons as head coach, the Bills would have double-digit wins in seven of them and miss the playoffs only three times during that stretch. He would retire as head coach following the 1997 season when the Buffalo Bills went 6-10 but he would remain close to the franchise over the years and even was general manager for two in 2006 and 2007.

While Sean McDermott may pass Levy one day, for now Marv Levy is the winningest coach in Buffalo Bills’ franchise history.
