Matt Araiza
The Buffalo Bills drafted Matt Araiza in the sixth round and the punter will enter the next few months competing with veteran Matt Haack for the starting job. He certainly has the edge in terms of punting with having one of the strongest legs in this year’s draft class but will need to show the coaching staff he can do an effective job holding on field goal attempts.
Among the rookies, Araiza has probably the second best chance of being a starter this year. However, the reason he is only third on this list is the fact that Buffalo doesn’t punt often with the offense they have.
Last year, the Bills finished with the sixth-fewest punt attempts with only 52 and in 2020 they had the fewest in the league with only 41. While Araiza has a good chance of winning the job, he may not see the field enough to make as big of an impact as these next two players.
