Buffalo Bills’ This or That Round 7: Jalen Nailor (WR) or Ja’Tyre Carter (IOL)?

This is an intriguing matchup. Both players offer good value for where they’re being drafted.

Jalen Nailor is incredibly fast and shifty, whereas Ja’Tyre Carter is a nasty and physical offensive lineman.

Either player, if chosen with this pick, would add value to the Buffalo Bills. Now, whether either or both will be available here is the question of the day. It’s always going to be speculation until the end of the draft.

For starters, let’s take a look at Jalen Nailor.

At Michigan State, Nailor made a name for himself with his speed. Running a  4.50 40-yard dash likely didn’t help his draft stock, but his game speed is faster than that 4.50. He might not be 4.3 speed, but Nailor plays with a shiftiness that makes him look faster than he is.

Also, playing at Michigan State gave Nailor some competition, rather than some Division II team. Not that competition always dictates skill, but performing against higher competition gives reason to think the transition to NFL-level competition is easier.

It goes without saying, but Josh Allen pairing up with Jalen Nailor could be a serious problem for opposing defenses. There are some things Nailor needs to tighten up if he wants to be a household name in the NFL, but the potential is absolutely there.

Now, a less flashy name, Ja’Tyre Carter.

Playing at Southern University, Carter’s name likely isn’t one that lower-level NFL fans recognize. He might not even pass the eye test for most casual fans, but those that study the draft likely know of Ja’Tyre Carter.

Among HBCU prospects, Carter ranks highly. That being said, he’s not going to top the names of those in the first round. His games needs refining, but he has a solid foundation to build on.

While Nailor might be a more fun name for the Bills to call at this position, Carter could fill a bigger need than wide receiver.

However, regardless of who is picked at this spot between Jalen Nailor and Ja’Tyre Carter, the Buffalo Bills will be getting a project player with great potential.

All-in-all, the NFL Draft can’t come soon enough; and the players selected with any of the Buffalo Bills’ picks will be lucky to join a team so locked in on winning. Let’s just hope the Bills build their team up to battle against the very competitive AFC conference. At the end of the day, that’s all fans can really do. The team has their board ready for the draft, and once it starts, it’s all up in the air as to what results follow.
