Punter

This one seems pretty obvious and it is worth mentioning it now. The Buffalo Bills last year did not get nearly enough from Matt Haack, who was in his first season with the team. He was signed as a free agent last offseason to a three-year deal and while he wasn’t asked to punt much, when he did he struggled.

The Bills and Haack were able to agree to a restructured deal this offseason that essentially makes it a one-year, prove-it type deal. This opens the door for Buffalo to bring in some competition, which could happen during the NFL Draft.

Matt Araiza is definitely the best punter in this year’s draft class and while punters aren’t commonly drafted, he has the talent to hear his name called. The Bills also have shown they are not afraid to draft kickers, by selecting Tyler Bass two years ago.

When the Bills have limited roster needs, using it on a punter may not be a bad idea as he likely would earn not only a roster spot but be a starter as a rookie.
