Buffalo Bills Roster Need: Tight End

The tight end position is one that on the surface really didn’t seem like a need for the Buffalo Bills. They have Dawson Knox coming off a career year and signed former first round pick O.J. Howard this offseason. The Bills also still have Tommy Sweeney, a former seventh round pick who has been able to fill in at times.

However, leading up to the NFL Draft, Buffalo has been putting a great deal of effort into the position. They have recently had three tight ends in for Top 30 visits as well as private workouts with Trey McBride, who is considered the best tight end in this year’s class, and Jelani Woods, according to Ryan Talbot.

The reason may be that Buffalo is concerned about the position past this upcoming season as all three tight ends currently on the roster will be free agents. If the team believes they may lose Knox, it makes sense to use one of their picks on this position.
