Running Back

Starter: Devin Singletary, Reggie Gilliam (FB)

Backups: Duke Johnson, Zack Moss, Taiwan Jones, Christian Wade

The running back position doesn’t look drastically different at this point with the only change being the addition of Duke Johnson, who replaces Matt Breida. The question is whether or not Duke Johnson has a bigger role than Breida.

Johnson is someone who does a good job as a pass catcher out of the backfield but is a bigger running back that could help Devin Singletary on the ground. When considering Duke Johnson being the only addition, it appears the Bills are committed to Singletary being the featured running back, similar to how he was used down the stretch last year. This is not necessarily a bad thing because Singletary played great in those final games and in the playoffs.

If these are the roles for Devin Singletary and Duke Johnson for the coming season, Zack Moss could find it tough to get snaps and could even be a possible trade candidate or on the roster bubble.
