4 players the Buffalo Bills should no longer consider in the 2022 NFL Draft
Tyler Linderbaum
The final player is center Tyler Linderbaum out of Iowa and while the interior offensive line should be a focus for the front office, Linderbaum shouldn’t be the player they look to target. The reason is that he is almost exclusively a center and doesn’t provide much position flexibility.
The Buffalo Bills were able to agree to a contract extension with Mitch Morse that now keeps him with the team through 2024 and should remain the starter. Where the Buffalo Bills need help is at guard so a player like Zion Johnson out of Boston College would make more sense if the team wants to use a first round pick here.
He has primarily played guard but was getting some practice reps at center during the Senior Bowl. Johnson has the potential to step in as a starter on Day 1 at guard but could be that backup to Morse if the need were to arise.
If the Buffalo Bills were to draft Linderbaum, he could be that backup center to Morse but hasn’t really shown that flexibility to move to guard. He also would likely be a first or second round pick and that pick could be better served to address another need on the roster.
