Prediction for 2022: Buffalo Bills

The first three players listed are almost certainly not returning to the Bills this offseason but one player that could is Daryl Williams. He has been with the Buffalo Bills the past two seasons after signing as a free agent in 2020.

In his first year with the team, he did an excellent job as the starting right tackle and earned a three-year contract last offseason. However, last year he struggled at tackle but found a new home at right guard and played well down the stretch there.

The challenge for the Bills, and ultimately which likely led to his release, was Williams’ cap hit was too high for a guard. As aggressive as Buffalo has been this offseason, they needed all the cap space they could find.

While Buffalo did release Daryl Williams this offseason, there is a chance that he could return as Mike Garafolo tweeted at the time of the reported release.

The Buffalo Bills are thin at offensive guard right now with Rodger Saffold and Cody Ford the only guards under contract that probably could be starters. The fact that Daryl Williams hasn’t been signed yet is a good sign that he could return to Buffalo on a one-year deal and compete for that starting guard job opposite Saffold.
