Cap Savings: $6,100,000

Dead Cap: $1,500,000

The veteran slot receiver had another good season with the Buffalo Bills but there should be questions moving forward about what his role might be in the offense. He finished the year with 82 receptions, which tied his career-high but had only 673 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

He had an average of 8.5 yards per reception, which was tied for a career-low when that was his average as a rookie in 2012. Beasley is set to be 33 years old next season and entering the final year of his contract.

This may be the year the Buffalo Bills decide to make a change at the position and look for a long-term answer at the position. The team also saw how the offense changes having a player like Isaiah McKenzie, who has more speed, can change this passing attack. In the game against the Patriots, when McKenzie got the start in place of Beasley, the Bills averaged 12.32 yards per attempt.

The combination of where Beasley is currently in his career, combined with the cap savings, makes this a move that would make sense to free up some cap space.
