Dead Cap: $1,800,000

In addition to Feliciano, the Buffalo Bills also brought back Daryl Williams, who started every game in 2020 at right tackle. However, this past season, Williams struggled at right tackle and Buffalo moved him inside to right guard, a position he played much better. He, along with Mitch Morse, was the only two offensive linemen to start all 17 regular season games.

The issue is that the contract that Williams signed was for a right tackle and guards in the NFL don’t usually average $8 million per year. In fact, that yearly average would make Williams the seventh highest-paid right guard, according to OvertheCap.

In past years, this likely wouldn’t have been an issue as Josh Allen was still on his rookie contract and that frees up a great deal of cap space. That isn’t the case anymore and the Buffalo Bills are going to have to be more efficient and try to find bargains wherever possible. This is one position they likely can and that is why Williams would likely be a player they cut as they could free up over $8 million with a post-June 1st designation.
