Buffalo Bills Positive: The Bills have closed the gap on the Chiefs

While they couldn’t get over the hump, the Bills at least closed the gap on the Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes is now 8-1 against the AFC in the playoffs and has won seven games in a row against the conference. Last year the Bills were the #1 contender to the Chiefs in the AFC and yet, they still weren’t all that close to the Chiefs. The Chiefs defeated the Bills by two scores in both matchups, once in the regular season and once in the playoffs.

However, after an offseason of work, Brandon Beane put together a team more capable of beating the Chiefs. And that’s exactly what they did in Week 5 when the Bills went into Arrowhead and won 38-20. T

hat result will ultimately be irrelevant due to the result of the playoff game. But, the Bills gave the Chiefs everything they could handle and went blow for blow with them on one of the brightest stages. While the game didn’t go their way, just by having a chance to win, the Bills have closed the gap significantly.
