Buffalo Bills Negative: Sean McDermott was once again outcoached in a big game

I just mentioned that the Bills are 3-0 at home in the playoffs under McDermott. Well, they are 0-4 on the road and now have suffered two extremely questionable losses to the Kansas City Chiefs. McDermott has done a phenomenal job of changing the culture in Buffalo, but his decision-making in big games has left a lot to be desired. Last year the Bills went down quietly in the AFC Championship Game as they settled for field goal after field goal.

This year the McDermott-led defense had three chances to get a stop and win the football game, and they failed to do so each time. McDermott used two timeouts to get his defense set up, yet the Bills still looked confused, lining up on the Chiefs’ 13-second drive to tie the game.

Instead of making the Chiefs earn it, the Bills gave them two easy completions to their two best players allowing the Chiefs to travel 40 yards in just under 9 seconds and set up a game-tying field goal attempt.
