Isaiah McKenzie

This past week against the New England Patriots, Isaiah McKenzie played phenomenal in place of Cole Beasley as the team’s starting slot receiver. He had a career game with 11 receptions, 125 receiving yards and one touchdown.

While it doesn’t make sense to sign a player to a contract extension off one game, it seems every time McKenzie has gotten a chance to contribute on offense he certainly has. Last year, in the regular season finale, he started in place of Cole Beasley. McKenzie finished that game with six receptions for 65 yards and two receiving touchdowns.

The Buffalo Bills could be looking to make a change at the position this offseason with Beasley entering the final year of his deal. If the Bills cut Beasley, it would result in them saving them over $6 million in cap space according to Spotrac.

The Bills could replace him with McKenzie, who has proven to be productive in this role, and would only be 27 years old entering next season. This seems like a move that could really benefit this offense and provide some long-term stability at a key position.
