Fantasy football expectations for Josh Allen in Week 16
Last week, Josh Allen had a tough matchup against the Carolina Panthers, a team that struggles on offense but has one of the best secondaries in the NFL. Allen would finish the game completing only 56% of his passes and 210 passing yards with one interception but did have three passing touchdowns.
Those three touchdowns helped save an average performance considering he only had three rushing attempts and 24 rushing yards. According to FantasyPros, it was enough to still be the highest-scoring player in fantasy this year with an average of 24.2 points per game.
Week 16 Opponent
This week it doesn’t get much easier for Josh Allen as he is facing a defense that is allowing the second-fewest points to quarterbacks over the past four weeks, according to NFL.com. The New England Patriots are giving up only 8.6 points per game and have allowed only three passing touchdowns and two interceptions.
The last time Josh Allen played the Patriots, in Week 13, he completed 15 of 30 for 150 yards and one touchdown. However, that game was impacted by windy conditions that limited what the two teams could do through the air.
What to expect from Josh Allen in Week 16 against the New England Patriots?
This week, the weather shouldn’t be as much of a factor and the Buffalo Bills should have their full playbook available. While the Patriots have done a good job limiting opposing quarterbacks, Josh Allen has shown he is startable regardless of the matchup.
With most leagues in playoffs this week, there should be no reason to bench the Buffalo Bills quarterback. While he may not finish as a Top 3 quarterback, he should do enough to be a QB1 and will likely finish with more fantasy points than what he had in Week 13 the last time the two teams met.
