Another defensive end who hasn’t played much this year but had a good game against the Carolina Panthers was rookie Boogie Basham. The second-round pick has played only 18% of the defensive snaps on the season but saw a season-high 36 snaps (47.4%) against the Panthers and had four total tackles.

Basham has been a healthy scratch eight games this year, including two of the last three prior to Week 15. He likely only got a chance to play with A.J. Epenesa inactive due to an injury he suffered late in the week during practice.

However, moving forward the Bills should not only have Basham active but playing more. Similar to Obada, Basham has the size to move inside to defensive tackle on passing downs which could create more opportunities for him to get on the field and make an impact.

The additions this week of Obada and Basham helped improve a defensive line that had been struggling to get steady pressure and win in the trenches.
