Tremaine Edmunds

For the first time all season, the Buffalo Bills defense will be going up against a quarterback who is a threat to run the ball in Cam Newton. This creates a challenge for the defense and the responsibility will likely fall on middle linebacker Tremaine Edmunds most snaps to account for this.

Edmunds, who is in his fourth season with the Bills, has not taken that next step as a linebacker that many would have hoped. He is a player who has all the physical attributes a team would want from a player at that position with a great combination of size and speed.

However, in three of the last four weeks opposing teams have been able to break off big runs and this is due in large part to Tremaine Edmunds not filling the gap or over-running the ball carrier. The Bills linebacker is one of the few players in the league that could match Cam Newton in size and speed but the question is can he put himself in a position to make the play?
