5 Buffalo Bills who stood out in Week 14 against the Tampa Bay Bucs
Gabriel Davis
This game was a homecoming for Gabriel Davis, who grew up in Florida and played college football at the University of Central Florida. He said in the week leading up to the game, that he was going to have between 30 to 50 family and friends in the stands, according to Maddy Glab.
The second-year wide receiver had been playing well recently but saw his role expand when Emmanuel Sanders went down with a knee injury in the first half. He would take advantage of this added opportunity and finish the game with five receptions for 43 yards and one touchdown.
However, Davis made one of the biggest plays of the game on fourth down on the Bills’ final drive of the fourth quarter. Josh Allen showed a lot of trust in Davis to throw his way in a critical time of the game.
Davis not only made the catch but would drag Sean Murphy-Bunting past the first down marker and keep the drive alive. That one play seemed to embody what the Bills were showing in that they were not going to be denied and keep fighting.
Sean McDermott has already said it is unlikely that Emmanuel Sanders will play this weekend against the Panthers which means Gabriel Davis once again will have a chance to make his case for having a bigger role in this offense.
