The Buffalo Bills are coming off their bye week at 4-2. The last time they played, the Bills lost a heartbreaker to the Tennessee Titans 34-31. The Bills will look to regain their momentum in a matchup with the division rival Miami Dolphins.

Buffalo Bills’ All Time Record vs the Dolphins

The Buffalo Bills are 53-61-1 all-time against the Miami Dolphins. The Bills have been dominant  against the Dolphins under Sean McDermott. They have taken eight out of nine matchups since McDermott took the reins in Buffalo, and the Bills have won by an average margin of 18 points in their eight victories under McDermott.

Last Meeting:

The Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins last met five weeks ago, when the Bills crushed the Dolphins 35-0. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the game very early on with an injury that kept him out until Week 6. Buffalo out-gained Miami in that game 314-216.

Last Week’s Result:

The Miami Dolphins lost their sixth game in a row on Sunday, losing on a last second field goal to the Atlanta Falcons, falling to 1-6 in the process.

The Miami offense had one of its better games of the 2021 season. They totaled 413 total yards of offense, out-gaining the Falcons by 16 yards. Tua Tagovailoa completed 32 of 40 passes for 291 yards, a 109.5 passer rating, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. The interception at the beginning of the fourth quarter was particularly awful.

Miami’s run game was surprisingly competent in last week’s affair. They rushed for 132 yards on 29 carries. Myles Gaskin led the way with 67 yards on 15 attempts.

The Miami offense was almost the beneficiary of a typical Atlanta 4th quarter collapse, climbing back from a 27-14 deficit in the fourth quarter. Tagovailoa and Matt Ryan each tried their best to give the game away. In the end, Younghoe Koo rescued the Falcons from a comeback defeat. It was Miami’s second consecutive loss on a last second field goal.

Final Thoughts

The current losing streak that the Miami Dolphins are on started with a blowout loss to the Bills. Last time out, the same Bills defense that shutout Miami had a rough night against the Titans. Things should change in a big way for the unit however.

An angry, motivated Buffalo Bills team will likely arrive at Highmark Stadium looking to make a statement that they are still the AFC’s best team, and given the favorable schedule that sits ahead of them, this is the game where they need to start another winning streak.
