Second half showed why the Bills need more from the run game – When a team has a superstar quarterback like Josh Allen, the run game sometimes isn’t viewed as important or necessary. However, when the Buffalo Bills get up big, like they did after Micah Hyde’s pick six to take a 31-13 lead, they need an effective run game to run the clock and shorten the game.

The Bills struggled to move the ball once the offense was back on the field after that play and the Chiefs were able to score a touchdown that put the game in reach on the subsequent drive.

The Bills did eventually find the end zone and rebuild that lead but, considering how much the they get up on teams they will need more from Devin Singletary and Zack Moss.

This is exactly what they envisioned with offseason improvements on defensive line – The Tampa Bay Bucs gave the rest of the league the blueprint in slowing down Patrick Mahomes with getting pressure without blitzing during the Super Bowl. This is easier said than done but general manager Brandon Beane recognized what needed to be done.

On Sunday night, the Bills got the results they were hoping by disrupting Patrick Mahomes in the pocket and limiting his ability to take shots down field. While they only had two sack, the Chiefs quarterback looked uncomfortable most of the night and they were able to do this primarily with just their front four.
