Buffalo Bills: 4 bold player predictions for the 2021 season
By Aaron Tully
Stefon Diggs leads the NFL in catches and receiving yards again
Stefon Diggs had a monster season in 2020. He led the NFL in catches (127) and receiving yards (1535) a year ago. He more than doubled his catches from 2019 (63) and had just over 400 more receiving yards than his 2019 total.
Diggs and Josh Allen fundamentally changed the way Buffalo’s offense works, and there is no reason to think that they will change what they’re doing in 2021. They should obviously look to improve the running game, but make no mistake, This Bills offense belongs to Allen and Diggs.
Given that the offense runs through the Allen-Diggs connection, there is no reason to think that Diggs will be usurped as the catches and yardage leader in 2021. Those types of numbers will be tough to replicate.
Outside influences like resting players could be a factor as to why it happens, but if there’s one thing that Sean McDermott has started doing as a coach, it is letting his players play.
Stefon Diggs is one of the NFL’s best at finding a way to get open, and that should not change in 2021. If Diggs is always open like he was in 2020, he will retain his crown as the top receiver in football in 2021.
