Buffalo Bills: 53-man roster prediction before second preseason game
Running Back (5)
Zack Moss, Devin Singletary, Matt Breida, Taiwan Jones, Reggie Gilliam (FB)
Cut: Antonio Williams, Christian Wade
The running back room is essentially locked in. Although Matt Breida did not play well (10 carries for 27 yards) with the absence of Zack Moss, the man behind him Antonio Williams could not capitalize running for only 15 yards on 7 carries.
Taiwan Jones is locked in due to his special team’s prowess and veteran status. Meanwhile, Devin Singletary left no questions about his roster status with his performance against the Lions. Just like last season, I would expect Williams and Wade to be a part of the practice squad.
The question mark here is Reggie Gilliam. Last year Gilliam was more of a tight end during the season switched back to his normal position of fullback. Gilliam is a huge special teams asset and while the addition of tight end Jacob Hollister could take some of his offensive snaps Buffalo likes what he does on Special Teams so much he likely will make the team. Also, we saw him lineup at fullback several times against the Lions and even got two carries.
