Harrison Phillips

Another player who had a good game against the Detroit Lions was defensive tackle Harrison Phillips. The Bills’ 2018 third round pick had been considered on the roster bubble after he was listed as third string on the team’s first depth chart.

However, Phillips showed good power and explosiveness that was missing last year as he worked his way back from an ACL injury in 2019. The discussion for Phillips may be shifting as he tries to work his way into a spot on the 53-man roster.

Harrison Phillips’ chances to make the roster will come down to how many defensive tackles, and defensive linemen in total, the Bills elect to keep. The competition could come down to Butler, Phillips, and Justin Zimmer for one or two backup spots. If Phillips has another good game against the Bears, he puts himself in a great position as teams move closer to that final roster cutdown.
