In limited action against the Lions, Rousseau certainly popped using the eye-test. His long arms, strength, and quick get-off accounted for a quarter of the Bills’ sack production Friday night.
Rousseau provided the Buffalo Bills with exactly what they were hoping for – even in modest playing time; a physically gifted, strong, and athletic edge rusher. He stood out on the Bills’ defensive line and appears to be just what the Bills were looking for when they drafted him 30th overall.
Rousseau missed all of last season after opting out due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, on Friday, he looked like he hadn’t missed a beat. The question remains of which combination of defensive lineman the Bills will trot out on Sunday, Sept. 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If Rousseau continues proving the Bills right with their decision in drafting him, he could be starting in his first NFL game come September.
