Buffalo Bills: 3 players who could pull a Shohei Ohtani and play both ways
Jerry Hughes (DE -> RB)
The final player is the one who has the longest tenure with the Buffalo Bills and plays the same position as Greg Rousseau. While Jerry Hughes is starting to get to the end of his career, maybe he can help the Bills offense and jumpstart the run game.
Prior to playing at TCU, Hughes played running back in high school and in his senior year had 1,412 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. He also was named first-team All-District 20-5A as a running back.
While his high school days were over 10 years ago, he showed off this past season that he still has some elusiveness when he has the ball in his hands. In the game against the Denver Broncos, Tre’Davious White is able to force a fumble that Hughes scoops up the loose ball and seems to make every Broncos player miss as he runs in for the score.
There is also some history of defensive linemen getting a chance to play on the offensive side of the ball as Sean McDermott gave Kyle Williams a few opportunities in his final seasons with the team. Could history repeat itself this season with Jerry Hughes? He clearly hasn’t lost a step running with the ball.
