Buffalo Bills: Predicting the depth chart at TE entering training camp

TE#4: Quintin Morris

For the three remaining tight ends, they are all long shots to make the 53-man roster but it wouldn’t be surprising to see one of them get a spot when considering how open the competition is. Quintin Morris is an undrafted free agent rookie out of Bowling Green and of the three tight ends on this page, he is the best receiver in this group.

TE#5: Reggie Gilliam

Reggie Gilliam was a great story last year making the 53-man roster and was a key part of their special teams. However, with the return of Tommy Sweeney, it becomes a numbers game and raises the question if the Bills can keep four tight ends on the active roster. If they believe they need help on special teams, this likely moves Gilliam up the depth chart.

TE#6: Nate Becker

The final tight end is Nate Becker, who was on the Buffalo Bills practice squad the past two seasons and in this group, he is their best blocking tight end. The only regular season game he has appeared in took place in the season finale last year against the Miami Dolphins.

He has the longest tenure with the Bills and if the coaching staff wants a better run blocker to fill the Lee Smith role, then Becker has a chance to make the 53-man roster this year.
