The Buffalo Bills started 2008 off with a bang, winning their first four games. The third of those four games came in a matchup with the Oakland Raiders. The Bills trailed 16-7 heading into the fourth quarter.
A Marshawn Lynch touchdown brought the deficit down to two., but the Raiders answered when JaMarcus Russell hit Johnnie Lee Higgins on a slant up the middle that resulted in an 84-yard touchdown.
The Bills responded with a score of their own when Trent Edwards lofted a ball to Roscoe Parrish for a 14-yard touchdown, bringing Buffalo back within two with four minutes remaining.
The Buffalo defense came up with the stop they needed and gave the offense the ball back with just over two minutes remaining. The Bills offense picked up a couple of first downs, setting up Rian Lindell to drill the game winning 38-yard field goal, sealing the comeback win for Buffalo.
Lynch rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns, and Trent Edwards threw for 279 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Outside of the 84 yard touchdown, the defense held JaMarcus Russell in check; he finished 9/19 with 156 yards and a touchdown. Chris Kelsay registered the only sack of the game for Buffalo.
