Buffalo Bills: The best players to wear 26-30
The Best Buffalo Bills player to wear #26: Charles Romes
Charles Romes, a 12th round draft pick in 1977 by the Buffalo Bills started as well as a 12th round pick probably would back in the day. After his rookie year was uneventful, the 6’1″ CB slowly started to make an impact. He got his first two interceptions of his career, including an 85-yard interception return touchdown. Romes would slowly build to have 16 of his 28 career interceptions in his final three seasons with the Bills, ending in 1986.
Romes resides in 4th place in career interceptions for the Bills, and also had a 76 yard blocked kick return for a touchdown, the second-longest in team history. Unfortunately, Romes would have some trouble off the field in retirement. Romes was arrested in Durham, North Carolina for credit card fraud in December of 1995.
The runner-up was Antoine Winfield, who fell just one interception short (26 to Romes’ 27). The rest of the list can be seen here.
