The second-most likely replacement for Cole Beasley: Isaiah McKenzie
Isaiah McKenzie has sort of been a journeyman in his career, being a late-round draft pick by the Denver Broncos for his first season in 2017, then coming to Buffalo the next year. McKenzie’s production has slowly increased, and he had a breakout year in 2020, nabbing 5 touchdowns during the regular season, including one in the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
There have been some Bills fans that prefer McKenzie to take over for Cole Beasley, and it’s easy to see why. A breakout year with Josh Allen throwing the ball gives a lot to hope for from a young player. McKenzie’s ability to earn 396 yards after catch (YAC) in two years is amazing for a guy who had 200+ receiving yards the last two years. With an average YAC/Reception of 6.95, he may be the player that gets the job.
Taking advantage of that crazy YAC-ability from McKenzie will be the key to his success.
