Buffalo Bills: 4 potential moves to use cap space after Stefon Diggs deal

After the 2021 NFL Draft, general manager Brandon Beane said he was in “the shopping market” which indicated that he likely wasn’t done adding free agents or additional players. Now with an extra $8 million in cap space, he could certainly be more aggressive adding free agents.

One of those players that would make sense is cornerback Steven Nelson, who the Bills were reportedly one of 14 teams talking with the former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback last month, reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

The Buffalo Bills have been trying to find the solution at cornerback opposite Tre’Davious White for a few years now and Nelson is someone who could be a long-term answer. He is only 28 years old but has a few years as a starter.

He also is a player that has experience on the outside but has also been able to slide inside to nickel. This could make him a potential replacement for Taron Johnson, who is a free agent after this season.
