Dane Jackson

The last player who could have a breakout year this season is cornerback Dane Jackson. The team’s seventh round pick last year spent most of the year on the practice squad but did play in five games and even started two.

He would go on to have one interception, one fumble recovery and five passes defended in limited playing time.

This year, Jackson is entering training camp competing for the starting job with Levi Wallace. The fact that the Bills haven’t added any veteran cornerbacks is an indication they are confident in the players they have. Since Wallace has never really been able to lock down the starting job, this is a positive more so for Dane Jackson.

The reason that Jackson is likely set up for a breakout year is he is going to have plenty of opportunities to force turnovers as opposing quarterbacks are going to target him early and often. When considering the Buffalo Bills have Tre’Davious White on one side of the field, teams would be smart to take their chances on the other side of the field.

The increase in opportunities could result in a higher total of interceptions and could set Dane Jackson up to be one of the breakout stars at the cornerback position this coming season.
