The Buffalo Bills are in the middle of their first week of voluntary offseason workout activities and on Wednesday made a roster move. The team announced they were signing wide receiver Lance Lenoir and made an additional move by releasing wide receiver Tre Walker.

Lenoir entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017 and spent his first three years in the league with the Dallas Cowboys. He spent a majority of the time on the practice squad but did appear in one game in 2017 and then seven games in 2018.

In those seven games during the 2018 season, he played almost exclusively on special teams with only eight offensive snaps but 106 special teams snaps.

Most recently, Lenoir was with the Seattle Seahawks prior to the 2020 season. He would be released but re-signed to the practice squad before being released from the practice squad midseason.

To make room for the addition of Lenoir, the Buffalo Bills released wide receiver Tre Walker. He was recently signed shortly after the 2021 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent.

The Buffalo Bills likely added Lance Lenoir for his play on special teams but even with that, he would likely be a long shot to make the final 53-man roster. The wide receiver position is one of the deepest on the roster and the top five spots should be pretty set at this point with Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis, Emmanuel Sanders, and Isaiah McKenzie.

The question becomes whether or not the Buffalo Bills will keep a sixth wide receiver and that battle would likely come down to Isaiah Hodgins, who was a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and Marquez Stevenson, who was a sixth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

It will be interesting to see what role Lance Lenoir will have through the remainder of OTAs and into training camp.
