Can any of the UDFA the Bills signed make the Roster?
Buffalo Bills UDFA #6: Syrus Tuitele (OL, Fresno State) 6-6, 318 lbs.
Syrus Tuitele started 26 games for Fresno State playing right tackle in all of those. While Tuitele did have a very solid career he projects more as a guard at the NFL level. A powerful player who had 36 bench press reps at his pro day lacks some of the more refined footwork and hip movement required for the NFL level. For more insight on Tuitele and what he brings to the table check out this UDFA player profile.
Tuitele enters a very large group of linemen in training camp. That is meant both figuratively and literally. Buffalo is bringing 16 offensive linemen into camp and three of the rookies coming in are all towering over 6″6′ (Tuitele, Spencer Brown, Tommy Doyle). Tuitele faces a very difficult challenge to the 53 man roster. Not only will he compete with three other rookies but a plethora of veteran signings made by Brandon Beane this offseason. Tuitele does not have an easy path to the 53-man roster. Instead, Tuitele is likely focused on a practice squad spot.
If Tuitele can show enough promise for Buffalo to make players like Forrest Lamp, Jack Anderson, or Jordan Devey expendable he has a shot at making the practice squad. While Buffalo does not have elite starters right now at the center or guard positions they do hold solid depth there which is why Tuitele will likely not make the roster or the practice squad.
Prediction: Cut
