More familiarity with Josh Allen

The first reason is that Stefon Diggs will have a full season of work with quarterback Josh Allen. This past season, while the two did work out during the season, there wasn’t any time to get on the same page with live action since there were no preseason games.

As the season went on, it was clear that a relationship was building with the two players and they became more familiar with each other. Their timing got better and Diggs production increased.

In the first eight games of the season, Diggs had 54 receptions on 79 targets, 695 yards, and three touchdowns with a catch rate of 68%. However, in the final eight games of the regular season, Diggs had 73 receptions on 87 targets, 840 receiving yards, five touchdowns with a catch rate of 84%.

There is no question the production increased as the season went on and the familiarity between the franchise quarterback and his number one wide receiver played a role.
