Free-agent running backs that would help the Bills: Le’Veon Bell

The third and final candidate on our free-agent running backs list, it’s Le’Veon Bell. Now with who’s left on the market, it was down to Bell, or three former Bills (Frank Gore, T.J. Yeldon, and LeSean McCoy). I figured that there was a reason that those three are former Bills and that it forced my hand to go with the one player who has the most upside.

Of course, any NFL fan knows just how much of hit or miss Bell can be based on his demeanor. That’s why he’s third on this list as my least preferred option.

For the positives, Bell showed he can be a part of an offense that has a great passing game, as the 2017 Pittsburgh Steelers lit up the NFL. He’d fit right in with the 11 personnel dominant offense and could be a great receiving option out of the backfield as well.

This all depends on whether or not he decides to be happy with the current situation that he’s in. His time in Pittsburgh wasn’t the smoothest, and horrifically bad with the New York Jets. I get it, the Jets have been a mess for a long time, but there’s a more professional way to go about wanting to leave a situation after you willingly signed there in free agency.

This would definitely be a “buyer beware” situation for Beane and the team, but the chance to earn a Lombardi may just keep his antics to a minimum.
