Forrest Lamp

Contract: 1 year, $1,057,500

Average salary rank among guards: 59th

One of the last free agents the Buffalo Bills signed before the 2021 NFL Draft was offensive guard Forrest Lamp. The former Los Angeles Chargers is a player who entered the league with high expectations but struggled with injuries early in his career.

This past season though he showed why he was considered such a high prospect in the 2017 NFL Draft and was selected in the second round by the Chargers. He would start all 16 games last year, played the most offensive snaps among guards, was called for one penalty and allowed only two sacks, according to Pro Football Focus.

The reason that Lamp could end up being one of the best bargains is that he should have a real chance of earning a starting job on this offensive line this season. The Bills did bring back Jon Feliciano on a three-year deal and still have Cody Ford. However, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him be a starter Week 1, similar to what Daryl Williams did last season at right tackle.
