1. Ifeatu Melifonwu
At the top of the Buffalo Bills draft board, when taking into account the player, the scheme and where they are likely to be able to draft him, Ifeatu Melifonwu out of Syracuse is the best fit for the team at cornerback.
He has a great size at 6’2″ and 212 pounds that he certainly has the body to match up against wide receiver in the NFL. The scouting report on The Draft Network describes him as “long, rangy, athletic and physical”.
He may not have the ball-hawking ability of say Paulson Adebo or Caleb Farley but he did have three interceptions over the past two seasons along with 13 passes defended. One of the areas though that the Bills will like, and this is similar to Asante Samuel Jr., in that he is not afraid to come up and help in run support.
When considering how deep the cornerback position is this year, the Buffalo Bills potentially could get Ifeatu Melifonwu in the second round. This is a great place to address a need that has been there for multiple seasons and presents great value.
