Buffalo Bills: 3 teams that could be interested in trading for Jake Fromm
As mentioned in my prior article, the Buffalo Bills shocked everyone when they drafted Jake Fromm in the 5th round of last year’s NFL Draft. One year later, he could find himself on the trading block. After signing Mitchell Trubisky to a one-year deal worth $2.5M, the backup quarterback position should be his job to lose. This begs the question, what will the Bills do with Jake Fromm in 2021?
As of right now, the Buffalo Bills have four quarterbacks on their roster, Josh Allen, Mitchell Trubisky, Davis Webb, and Jake Fromm. Most teams in the NFL like to only have two quarterbacks on their 53-man roster and keep one on the practice squad. Given the exceptions created for the practice squad in 2020, Davis Webb could be eligible for another year on the practice squad, which could make Fromm the odd man out.
With good production during his 3 years playing for the Georgia Bulldogs, Fromm could still have some decent trade value despite his lack of NFL tape. With that being said, I don’t think the Buffalo Bills could get a 1st round pick back for him considering how far he slid in last year’s draft, but he could be a solid trade chip for the Bills to move up on day three of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Below I will highlight 3 teams that should be interested in exploring a trade with the Buffalo Bills for Jake Fromm and why they might be interested.
