Potential day one prospects to target

The first offensive tackle prospect to look into is former Oklahoma State Cowboy Teven Jenkins. Jenkins is probably the most realistic prospect that could replace Daryl Williams for two reasons. The first reason is that the Bills have actually met with Jenkins during the pre-draft process which shows there is already interest. Secondly, Jenkins is the highest ranked offensive tackle prospect that is most likely to fall to the Bills first round pick at 30th overall.

Jenkins best trait is his play strength, and it really showed in his run blocking reps. When he gets to play downhill, Jenkins can really push the pile and create lanes for his running back. He isn’t the most polished pass protector, but he has the physical tools to develop into a complete right tackle at the next level.

The next prospect is the former Texas Longhorn Samuel Cosmi who stands at a tall 6’7 and slender 309 pounds. Cosmi has plenty of reps against quality edge rushers throughout his collegiate career in the Big 12. Additionally, he got to practice every day against one of the most tenacious edge rushers in this draft class, former teammate Joseph Ossai. Those one on ones certainly helped Cosmi improve during his time with the Longhorns.

Cosmi may be the offensive tackle that I’m most excited about as he has a solid chance to be available to the Buffalo Bills in the first round and a slight chance to slide down to their second round selection. With that being said, Cosmi has the athleticism and physical tools to be a day one pick and starter in the NFL. Although Cosmi might be one of the most athletically gifted offensive linemen in this draft class, he still needs some technical refinement at the next level. Cosmi also provides some additional value because he has collegiate experience playing both left and right tackle.
