Buffalo Bills: 6 moves they should make before the start of free agency

The start of free agency is right around the corner for the Buffalo Bills and the rest of the NFL. The legal tampering period begins on March 15th, which means teams are able to talk with players that are free agents and begin contract negotiations.

However, it isn’t until March 17th that those teams can make the deal official. This is also the official date that the Bills need to be under the salary cap, which still hasn’t officially been announced.

Prior to these dates though the Buffalo Bills have a number of moves they could make that would put them in a much better position heading into free agency. They have already begun that process by agreeing to a contract extension with starting safety Micah Hyde on Friday. The new deal keeps him in Buffalo through the 2023 season.

Then on Saturday, the team agreed to a two-year deal with restricted free agent linebacker Andre Smith. The Bills traded for Smith right before the start of last season and he was a valuable part of the special teams unit last year.
